In the News: Aldea Global, The Panamanian Blogosfere 
Last week I was contacted by Annette Hinestroza V., a reporter from El Panama America. Annette was working on a story about "bloggers" in Panama, to be published in the new "Aldea Global" segment of this major newspaper. Even after answering her questions and giving her my impressions, I was a little skeptical about how serious would El Panama America be about "blogs," being the case that the other major newspaper in Panama, La Prensa, has never found the subject worth more than a little box in a corner of a page that could hardly be found.
Do not get me wrong, I love La Prensa, I have great friends working there. I have been featured in their pages many, many times...in the cooking section of course! But when it comes to blogs, they are way behind their competitors.
That is why I was in shock when I saw the size of the article published by Annette. I could not believe it----It was huge, one complete page! Way to go Annette, congratulations and thank you for your support and for helping us spread the word about blogs in Panama.

The art of Eating Hibiscus made poem:
One day before the same post on Cooking with Saril = Hibiscus = Jamaica was featured on the newspaper, my friend Don Ray, the author of Chiriqui Chatter, wrote a beautiful POEM that brought a big smile to my face that morning when I read it! Read the Eating Hibiscus poem.
